Deputy Director: Regional Infrastructure Programme Eastern Region(Salary Level 12)
Duration:
3 Year Fixed-Term Contract of Employment
Our client is looking for a highly motivated individual to manage and coordinate national infrastructure programme across various Campuses of the Eastern Region includes KwaZulu- Natal National Botanical Garden, KwaZulu-Natal Herbarium and the Kwelera National Botanical Garden.. The position requires a National Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural), or equivalent qualification with NQF 7. A postgraduate degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural) or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. The successful candidate must have 8 years’ experience in the relevant field, of which 4 years’ should be in the first line management position(s) managing and coordinating major infrastructural programme and projects.
The successful candidate must have:
• Excellent analytical, conceptual abilities, report-writing skills and experience in working with spreadsheets (MS Excel);
• Experience in working with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB);
• Knowledge of the PFMA and National Treasury’s Infrastructure Development Management System (IDMS)
• Knowledge of infrastructure procurement and associated processes
• Be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
• Be registered as a Professional Construction Project Manager with the South African Council for the Project and
Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP)
• Experience in construction project management of similar scaled projects
• Experience in labour-intensive construction and managing expanded public works programmes
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of building materials/tools available in the built environment sector
• An understanding of the relevant regulatory processes applicable to the Built Environment sector
• A high level of project, programme, procurement, financial, and human resources management expertise
• A valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel.
