Deputy Director: Regional Infrastructure Programme Northern Region(Salary Level 12)
Duration:
3 Year Fixed-Term Contract of Employment
Our client is looking for a highly motivated individual to manage and coordinate national infrastructure programme across various Campuses of the Northern Region which includes Pretoria, Water Sisulu, Lowveld, Free State National Botanical Gardens and Thohoyandou Botanical Garden. The position requires a National Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural), or equivalent qualification with NQF 7. A postgraduate degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural) or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. The successful candidate must have 8 years’ experience in the relevant field, of which 4 years’ should be in the first line management position(s) managing and coordinating major infrastructural programme and projects.
The successful candidate must have:
• Excellent analytical, conceptual abilities, report-writing skills and experience in working with spreadsheets (MS Excel);
• Experience in working with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB);
• Knowledge of the PFMA and National Treasury’s Infrastructure Development Management System (IDMS)
• Knowledge of infrastructure procurement and associated processes
• Be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
• Be registered as a Professional Construction Project Manager with the South African Council for the Project and
Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP)
• Experience in construction project management of similar scaled projects
• Experience in labour-intensive construction and managing expanded public works programmes
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of building materials/tools available in the built environment sector
• An understanding of the relevant regulatory processes applicable to the Built Environment sector
• A high level of project, programme, procurement, financial, and human resources management expertise
• A valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel.

• Foster strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders
• Manage regional infrastructure budgets
