Marketing Executive - Johannesburg

As the Marketing Executive for the company, you are responsible for overseeing the entire marketing and campaign lifecycle for clients. This includes creating, implementing and managing client campaigns and liaising with suppliers in the process to ensure that all client needs and deliverables are met. Within this role, you will develop the content based on client needs and ensure that all content is of high quality.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:
• Degree in Marketing & Communication or Related Disciplines
• Degree in Business Desirable
• Degree in Advertising Desirable

Marketing Strategies:
• Before meeting with the client, take time to analyse the clients existing brand image and marketing and identify where there are gaps. With this
information, conduct market & competitor research that you can present to the client in the first briefing
• Create presentations for marketing workshops and run these workshops with new/existing clients to map out the next steps for their marketing
approach. Prepare and present the feedback from your analysis and research to the client and ensure that you are on the same page with
regards to their marketing strategies
• Once the workshop has been run, assist the Marketing Manager in creating the marketing strategy and present this strategy to the client.
• Proactively liaise with the client on the presented marketing strategy and make any changes/additions as and when required.
• Once the marketing strategy is created, collaborate with the Marketing Manager and other Marketing Executives in planning what each
individual is accountable for and work towards creating the budget.
• Once the marketing strategy has been created and approved, brief the necessary suppliers on what you will require from them in the next few
weeks so that they are aware of what is needed and can provide this accordingly.

Campaign Planning & Management:
• Take time to understand the client’s needs and what they are wanting to achieve from a marketing point of view (i.e. how many people they are
targeting, if they want to generate leads etc.).
• Once you have this understanding, you will need to conceptualize what this objective will look like and draw up a concept document that can be
pitched to the client. This could be social media posts, mailers etc.
• Act as the point of call between suppliers and the client as to ensure that all client needs are being met by suppliers in a timely manner.
• Provide honest and valuable feedback to the client on the nature of the campaign, the progress and, the outcome of the campaign as to ensure
that the client is well looked after and always kept in the loop.
• Ensure that you keep within the agreed upon budget to ensure that client expectations are met.
Content Development:
• Based on client needs and the marketing and campaign strategy, you are responsible for developing all content needed for the campaign. The
types of content may include website copy, product brochures, LinkedIn writeups, company profiles, personal biographies, social media posts,
mailers, newsletters, blogs etc.
• Collaborate with Marketing Manager on the nature of the content that needs to be developed and ensure that all first drafts are sent and
checked by the Marketing Manager.
• Make all changes and revisions suggested by the Marketing Manager and the client to ensure you are meeting their standards and needs.
• When collaborating with a Copywriter, ensure that all content developed by them is reviewed and quality checked before sending it to the client.
• Understand the client’s needs and be willing to tap into what they may have not liked about the content and review the work with a critical eye.

Client & Supplier Engagement:
• Ensure that all suppliers are kept updated weekly (status meetings) and send them status reports informing them of what their accountabilities
are, what is needed from them and how the project is going.
• Build, maintain and nurture relationships with all clients assigned to you through consistent communication patterns and timeous responses.
• Set up and attend monthly meetings with the clients to discuss progress of their project, what the suppliers are working on and what the next
steps are for the upcoming weeks/months.
• Ensure that there are quarterly & yearly strategy reviews and planning sessions with clients. These sessions will provide the client with the
performance of their projects and what is still to come.

Report Writing & Admin [Still to Come]
• Write accurate and informative status report for clients and suppliers as to ensure that they are kept in the loop and they are aware of the
progress of the project.
• Create and consistently update the client tracking sheet where all project deliverables are broken down into action points and desired outcomes.
• For meetings with the client, prepare meeting agendas and reports to ensure that the session is fruitful and valuable. Write up post meeting
notes and action plans that can be sent to the client.
