Distribution Coordinator – Pietermaritzburg
R20 000 CTC
Purpose:
To lead, manage and co-ordinate the optimum operational performance of the Distribution Centre through entrenching a performance-based culture of continuous improvement and health and safety awareness.
Duties:
• Manage the operational performance of the Distribution Centre by reducing costs and increasing efficiency and effectiveness
• Day to day management of employees within the Distribution centre
• Plan routes and ensure that all deliveries are carried through as per schedule of deliveries
• Implementation of supply chain projects, applying processes and methodologies in accordance with best practices
• Enable and consolidate the DC climate and culture
• Co-ordination with area supervisors to ensure clean as you go is done and all areas are left clean at close down
• Ensuring high standards of picking and pulling of stock is achieved and maintained
• Carrying out quality duties as instructed by the DC Manager
• Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximise operational efficiencies
• Ensure that customer orders and jabs are managed daily, and that wave item clearing is maintained with no orders in excess of 48 hours
• Assist with implementation and optimization of new projects related to improving the efficiency of operations
• Ensure that all resources, including electronic equipment and materials handling equipment, is maintained and in safe operating conditions
• Ensure that picking supervisor's sign off discrepancies and that picking aisles are neat and product integrity is maintained
Requirements:
• Matric or equivalent
• Must have a Diploma or relevant qualification in Warehouse Management / Supply Chain
• Minimum of 5 years warehouse experience in a middle management role
• Must have previous exposure to warehouse and logistics management systems
• Must have knowledge of systems, warehouse and logistics processes
• Must have knowledge of health and safety procedures
