Exec Head: Finance and Vendor Management
Cape Town
The role is primarily accountable to provide leadership to the Group Technology Management team regarding Finances, Investment, Technological and overall Commercial direction to ultimately drive execution of the strategy.
Key responsibilities:
• Take overall accountability of the business accounting function of a shared service
• Contribute fully to the development and execution of the business strategy
• Understand and financially translate new and existing information technology requirement to investment requirements
• Lead and develop the finance team
• Ensure corporate budgeting processes are carried out within the timeframes and financial appetite of the sharing businesses
• Make informed decisions re Foreign Exchange, Business cases, Cash flow and Capital funding options.
• Present monthly recoveries, annual budget to sharing parties and external clients (Data Centre hosting)
• Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory accounts adhere to the group policies
• Manage company policies regarding approval framework, Long term strategic investment and financial sharing principles
• Risk management with specific focus on current and emerging risk with financial implication
• Optimise the value IT
• Advise on the best path of technology investments (i.e. cloud roadmap)
• Be able to establish and maintain a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties/vendors including customers and clients
• Translate planned technology investment with variable parameters, into most likely financial business case and understanding drivers that can influence outcomes.
• Vesting and reinforcing commercial orientation within the organisation
• Lead development and execution of a performance driven supplier management process resulting in structured feedback and regular scorecard performance evaluation
• Lead the procurement function and oversees all aspects of purchasing, negotiations, strategy, tool, and process implementation for procurement related to goods and services
• Provide leadership and direction to the procurement organization. Manage and develop resources to deliver business partner satisfaction and achievement of overall client business and financial objectives and BEE procurement spend
• Negotiate favourable contractual terms and conditions with mega suppliers
• Procurement Board representative for Technology
• Deliver on cost reduction commitments through the identification, development, and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives
• Develop and implements efficiencies, standardized tools, practices, and procedures shortening the quotation, RFP and decision making and evaluation time
• Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies and review on a regular basis to ensure relevance and conformance with best practices and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies.
• Establish Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) practices and reinforce through regular benchmarking, periodic RFP’s, and supplier performance metrics reporting
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications:
• Registered Chartered Accountant (CA) SA
• SAICA Registered
Knowledge:
• Sound knowledge of Information technology and software licensing
• Commercial transactions, including the financial structuring of deals, asset and business acquisitions
• South African statutory requirements and tax regimes
Experience:
• At least 15 years of experience in Financial Management with at last 5 years’ experience at Senior Financial Executive Level
• Leading a finance team in a technology business environment
• Multi-vendor, multi-client environment
• Dealing with major service and license providers in securing contracts and negotiating terms
