A high-tech multinational company in Johannesburg has a vacancy for a Refractive Laser Field Service Engineer.


Job:
Providing required dedicated support for both local and Sub-Saharan Refractory market in line with our projected Refractory revenue growth, and to support our existing network of distribution partners across Africa.


REQUIREMENTS

Education:
• Grade 12
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Knowledge:
Industry and product specific, complete customer order process, advanced computing, optics, troubleshooting, electronics, general business practices, business ethics, contractual terms and conditions

Experience:

5 years’ experience in an electrical or engineering service position

Travel:
Travel in South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa. Passport is essential.

Driver’s Licence and own transport: Compulsory


REQUIREMENTS
Operational Excellence
Be able to carry out service level 1 and level 2 approved installation-, maintenance-, troubleshooting- and repair activities according to procedures described in the company product systems service manual and other product related service documentation e.g. service bulletins


Key or Core Activities of Job

• Follow up on service requests and ensure Job cards are filled in and submitted
• Travel extensively across SA and Rest of Sub-Sahara Africa regions to support installed system and potential sites
• Maintaining, servicing, repairing and technical support of all products encompassed by the business unit and other products as required from time to times
• Preparation and submission of job cards after any work has been performed
• Preparation and estimation of costs of work required either for COD or contract customers
• Provision of technical support to sales personnel for exhibitions / demos and shows
• Visiting clients countrywide and international to support the company’s products
• Work hand in hand with the back office to schedule appointments
• Offering and supporting the sale of Contracts
• Liaison with company’s internal staff (working together)
• Providing continuous feedback to management
• Train customers and sign off as per company protocol and schedules
• Maintaining of existing customer data base through our CRM system
• Mentoring and internal training of Trainees / new engineers
• Working and adhering to SBU KPIs
• Being a brand Ambassador



Salary: depending on experience
