Our client, a leading Chrome Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Finance and Admin Superintendent (Consolidation) at their Corporate Office in Morningside, Sandton in Johannesburg.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To manage the Financial consolidation structure and consolidate, analyse, interpret and report financial results.

BALANCED SCORECARD PILLARS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
Identify and assess level of issue based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
Manage SHEQ compliance within the Section through effective use of the Toolbox
Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status

PEOPLE

Manage the Section:
Ensure an enabling climate/culture
Manage labour stability by minimising labour turnover
Labour complement in line with budget
Achieve HDSA/Female targets for the Section
Manage performance against set targets and competencies
Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
Conduct recruitment interviews

CUSTOMERS
Liaise and coordinate with Sites regarding the clarification and understanding of operational performance
Ensure Customer Satisfaction (Group Financial Manager, CEO, Admin Managers and shareholders)

BUSINESS PROCESSES

Audits:
Support and consolidate divisional interim and year-end Statutory accounts
Prepare interim and year-end accounting packs in SA Rand as well as US$ in accordance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) for submission to shareholders and stakeholders (SARS, Financial Institutions, etc.)
Evaluate and make recommendations for Site Audit Packs
Liaise with external auditors and coordinate statutory external audits

Management Accounting Reporting:
Analyse and review financial information and operational data, in compliance with accounting standards and taxation requirements
Support and prepare consolidated Samancor Chrome monthly Management Reports and Quarterly Board reports
Support and consolidate the Chrome Sites monthly Management Accounts
Compile consolidated accounts on FDC
Compile consolidated Rand and US $ accounts
Prepare financial information for the monthly Consolidated Management Accounts for Samancor Group
Develop and maintain SOP's for consolidation
Compile and interpret the Financial Variance analysis
Compile Risk Management Reports

Taxation:
Review and consolidate monthly and annual BU tax calculations
Review tax returns
Resolve tax queries

Forecasting and Budgeting:
Compile monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts in various systems for shareholders
Compile consolidated annual budgets in various systems for shareholders
Prepare monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts
Interpret and report on the Financial Budget

GROWTH
Improve management and shareholder reporting processes and systems
Advice and recommend improvements to Operational performances

Requirements
Minimum qualifications:
B Com Honours (Accounting)
CA(SA)
6 years’ consolidation experience, preferably 2 years’ managerial experience

Additional qualifications:
Experience in preparation of AFS in line with IFRS preferred
