A private hospital in the greater Pietermaritzburg area is looking for a Financial Accountant

REQUIREMENTS

Education & experience
• A valid Grade 12 or Matric Equivalent Certificate with Accounting and / or Mathematics as a subject.
• A completed Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Applications and Pastel).
• Must have at least 3 years’ experience as a financial accountant in a hospital environment
• Must have management experience

Tasks will include but is not limited to the following:
• The incumbent will be responsible for managing the entire bookkeeping operation and assume responsibility for this function and will ensure that all deadlines are achieved.
• Must have taken the GL to management accounts level.
• Oversee the creditors and debtors’ functions.
• Oversee Purchasing function.
• Reporting directly to the Financial Controller.
• Ensuring that all required statutory returns and payments are performed timeously.
• Do monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Maintain the fixed asset register.
• Process intercompany transactions and balance intercompany loan accounts.

• Ensuring adherence to all relevant statutes, statutory bodies, rules and regulations, disciplinary code, and staff employee manuals.

Salary is negotiable up to R 30 000 per month plus benefits.
