Financial Manager – Construction

Manage company accounting activities and procedures. Lead & coordinate all tasks & functions related to financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, debt financing. Fulfill in a timely manner all financial obligation and requirements with third parties.

REQUIREMENTS
•.B.Com Degree +
•. Min 5yrs exp in a senior Finance position in CONSTRUCTION ENVIRONMENT – not negotiable
• Buildsmart highly advantageous, Candy also an option
• Staff control of 5
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• General knowledge of ERP Systems and the relation of other modules with accounting and finance modules and the associated controls
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
• Knowledge of Government financial regulations

ONLY South African citizens with the above credentials will be considered.

KEY SKILLS
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
• Good knowledge in the cost accounting and financial analysis
• General knowledge of the manufacturing cost accounting, i.e. product cost, inventory, standard cost, variance analysis between actual and standard cost
• Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work also requires willingness to work on multitask, long hours and under pressure so as to meet deadlines
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
• Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Development Management
a. Understanding of project cash flows and project funding
b. Detailed daily cash flow analysis and ability to do accurate cash flow forecasts and cash flow management
c. Understanding of Intergroup accounting
d. Project Recoveries
e. Project budget variances analysis

2. Construction Management
a. Detailed reporting and variance analysis based on bill of quantity from project managers
b. Cash flow management

3. Residential Property management
a. Overseeing of rental property budgets
b. Overseeing of levy budgets
c. Overseeing of in-house small projects annual budgets
d. Review of monthly management accounts and budget variance reports
e. Debtors Arrears Management

4. General
a. Preparation of group NAV reports
b. Preparation of overhead budgets
c. Board packs to internal and external shareholders
d. Ability to present financials at board level
e. Annual Audits
f. Tax Calculations and Tax Returns
g. VAT Returns
h. Overall cash flow management at group level
i. Payment authorisation for all above entities based on budget approvals
