A Financial Manager is required for a company for their Mining Department.Position is based in Johannesburg East.Suitable candidates will need to have the following minimum qualification and relevant experience:

Requirements:

Minimum requirements / experience

CA (SA)
8 – 12 years’ experience in a Financial related role
Must be registered with SAICA
Must have experience in a Mining Environment

Responsibilities:

Plan strategically to improve overall business performance
Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the Finance functions and ensure compliance
Ensure adherence and compliance with Corporate Governance guidelines and standards
Ensure controls are in place to mitigate material risks
Compile and analyse Finance KPI’s and indices and identify improvement opportunities
Manage the finances of the Finance Section to meet Departmental objectives
Report financial performance (monthly)
Manage the Financial Auditing process (internal and external)

Ensure appropriate financial and governance controls are established and maintained
Implement changes to the Financial framework due to new Financial standards
Monitor internal controls and make recommendations for the strengthening of controls where appropriate
Prepare year-end audit files
Coordinate external audit visits
Lead and drive cost saving and cash conservation initiatives
Review Company Financial statements
Receive and process Cash Book payments
Authorise Cash Book payment batches
Cost and Budget control
Cash flow management
Tax management
Prepare and manage Capital budgets
Prepare Financial forecasts
Foster and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, customers and suppliers
Attend to a range of customer, supplier and stakeholder queries.
Manage and improve individual and team performance
Monitor and evaluate team members against performance standards
Provide Leadership within Function
Manage conflicts within the workplace and ensure discipline is maintained within function
Resolve grievances and disputes
Comply to SHE standards in the work environment and Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance Quality Management System
Maintain and update Finance policies and procedures
