About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with government and labour to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position
• Fire Technician Assistant.
Duties
• Inspects, repairs, and tests fire extinguishers using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment, and monitoring devices.
• Dismantles extinguishers and examines mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means; replaces worn or damaged parts.
• Cleans extinguishers and recharges them with approved materials.
• Inspects, tests, and repairs systems such as smoke detectors, sprinklers, and dry stand pipe systems, and pull systems.
• Assists in fire safety inspection.
• Attending tender briefing or/and any other business and instructed by the office.
• The job-holder will be required to train on any computer software as designated by the company.
• Implements and adheres to company policies and procedures
• Attends meetings and travels to meet clients as needed, or/and any other business and instructed by the office.
• Tendering and bringing new business
• Procurement of supplies for projects

Requirements
• Matric
• SAQCC fire technician certificate is advantageous
• Knowledge, Skill or Experience in the testing, repair, inspection, and maintenance of fire safety equipment or in a similar position
• Communication skills, Computer Literacy, Interpersonal Skills, Problem solving skills, Punctuality, Critical Thinking skills, Teamwork and
Collaboration skills, Adaptability Skills, Good Work Ethic, Project Management Skills.
• Code 10 Drivers Licence.
• Willingness to learn.
• Aged between 18 and 29.
• Must be Unemployed.
• Must not have taken part on the YES Programme before
