General Merchandising Supervisor – FMCG

Introduction
A large and reputable FMCG retail group seeks to employ a GENERAL MERCHANDISING SUPERVISOR in Mulbarton, Johannesburg South.
Managing all aspects of floor operations while fulfilling the role of a strategic business partner. Tasked to maintain the replenishment process throughout the day to ensure excellent availability. Ensure stock control and the merchandise plan is followed. Responsible for full-cycle inventory management and back-up support. To manage staff and productivity.

Minimum Requirements
• Gr 12 or equivalent NQF
• A relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage
• Minimum of 3 years’ FMCG merchandising experience
• Minimum of 2 years’ FMCG merchandising supervisory experience
• Proficient in English, both verbal and written
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Must reside in the Johannesburg South area

Core Responsibilities
• Prevent wastage/breakage and communicate with management to cover shrinkage
• Organise storage areas to optimise capacity and minimise product handling
• Ensure product safety requirements are met
• Maintain procedures and processes that ensure 100% product rotation
• Manage housekeeping and ensuring equipment are in working condition
• Work in conjunction with other departments to ensure productivity
• Maintain accurate physical inventory counts
• Coordinate and manage product displays, promotional displays, shelve talkers and pricing
• Report any irregularities to higher management regarding any conduct harmful to the Company
• Participate in special projects and perform other reasonable and lawful instructions as assigned
• Provide subordinates with support regarding leadership, problem-solving and customer complaints
• Ensure the merchandising team understands the relevant principals of merchandising standards
