RS Recruitment Services is assisting a large organisation in the PRINTING MANUFACTURING industry to recruit a GROUP BUYER to be based at their offices in MOBENI – approximately R15 000 – R20 000 + medical aid and provident fund benefits.

ESTABLISHED IN THE EARLY 1980s, OUR CLIENT IS ONE OF SOUTH AFRICA’S LARGEST MANUFACTURERS OF BOARD PACKAGING AND PRINTING.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

Select the most appropriate goods and services on the basis of price, quality, delivery times and services support.

The ideal candidate should have/be the following:

Grade 12.
Related qualification, an advantage.
3 – 5 years’ experience in procurement in a manufacturing environment, essential.
Experience working with Forex in terms of importing and exporting products, a distinct advantage.

Key responsibilities, but not limited to:

Forecasting levels of demand for services, products and/or component parts used in the manufacturing process.
Research market trends and needs.
Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.
Developing purchasing policies and procedures.
Identifying potential suppliers.
Producing reports.
Negotiating and authoring contracts and monitoring their progress.
Processing payments and invoices.
Keeping contract files and using them as reference.
Ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives, policies and procedures.
Liaising with users and other relevant departments.
Checking costs, quality and levels of service.
Monitor stock levels to maximize business efficiency.
Ad hoc duties as required.

Remuneration:

Approximately R15 000 – R20 000 basic salary plus medical aid and provident fund benefits.
