We are seeking a seasoned HR Leader who will be responsible for hiring the best people, fostering continuous personal growth and enriching the overall experience for the company team members. This includes culture, wellness, administration, training and engagement as well as talent management.
A key purpose is to understand and implement the company’s strategic objects, remain up to date on legislation as well as industry trends and practices and provide sound professional advice.
Human Resources
• Talent management and recruitment.
• Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources and other departments to ensure optimal flow and maintenance of employee data. This includes preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g., Labour hours, overtime, leave balances, head count and retirement contribution reports.
• Maintain employee records - Ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis, review changes for proper authorization and adherence to regulations.
• Co-ordinate the activities of the Employment Equity committee with reporting including EEA2 and EEA4 reporting.
• Maintain the full recruitment process - Screening applications and CV’s, conducting all interviews, completing reference checks, medical checks and criminal checks. This includes onboarding of new employees and completion of all new employee documentation.
• Limited duration contracts - Manage and co-ordinate including the development and maintenance of an employee database for short term projects.
• Control and record any leave, sick leave and absenteeism.
• Terminations – Ensure all terminations are captured correctly and terminated employees receive all the applicable and relevant documentation such as provident fund withdrawal forms, medical aid certificates and UI-19 forms.
• Industrial Relations – Disciplinary hearings, procedural adherence and all disciplinary action including MEIBC hearings if required.
• Assist with counselling, grievances and disciplinary adherence.
• Maintain implementation and demonstrate commitment to transformation by the Group.
• Manage all relevant data as per all BEE processes and the annual BEE verification requirements.
Training & Skills Development Facilitator
• Serve as a resource with regard to all aspects of Skills Development.
• Tracking of Mandatory and Discretionary Grants.
• Co-ordinate the activities of the Training Committee.
• Develop the Workplace Skills Plan, including the input of the Training Committee.
• Advise the Training Committee on implementation of the Workplace Skills Plan.
• Ensure the generation of any document submissions required by the Department of Labour, the relevant SETA, or any other body.
• Provide advice to the company and training Committee of any quality standards set by the SETA.
• Act as a contact person between the company and the SETA.
• Responsible for the implementation of Learnerships and Apprenticeships.
• Responsible for Discretionary Grants, including application and implementation.
• Submissions of relevant data to MerSETA as per all Section 28 applications as per Trade Tests.
• Scheduling of all training applicable to employees and maintenance of all training data.
Other duties & functions:
• Maintain and update all relevant policies as per any updates to Labour Law.
• Maintain the company LinkedIn page and utilise this as a resource to recruit top talent.
• Maintain the company website and advise on any changes to be implemented. Also ensure that “Join the team” is always updated.
• Ensure that the company website reflects the correct BEE Scorecard annually.
• Maintain positive company culture by ensuring events and activities are held that support and enhance employee wellness and company culture.
• Additional projects and tasks will be provided from time to time, this in line with the HR scope of work
Requirements
• Matric and Degree in Human Resources.
• Relevant certificates applicable to HR Degree.
• Exceptional organizational and leadership skills with attention to detail.
• Emotional and technical intelligence with exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience in effectively leading a team(s).
• Clear criminal record and continual maintenance thereof.
• 2 to 3 years’ experience as an HR Leader or 5 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner.
• SDF qualification – advantageous
