Our client, a Mechanical Engineering Plant in Bellville, wants to appoint a HSE Coordinator, who is a registered SACPCMP, on a fixed term 6 month contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Management of Safety Officers under their supervision.
Ensure ISO 45001, legal and statutory requirements are met.
Day to day onsite supervision of employees through the safety officers.
Ensure all incidents are reported timeously and initiate investigations.
Provide HSE technical assistance to employees and supervisors.
Conduct Toolbox Talks, inspections, co-ordinate incident investigations and reporting etc.
Manage the medical surveillance of all staff in conjunction with HR Department
Ensure all medical records are saved on the system in the correct folders and with the correct security levels.
Assist with project related documentation and preparation arrangements.
Compile Safety Files for projects.
Maintain the overall HSE documentation system including checks and actions.
Day to day authorisation capability for HSE expenses – first aid supplies, fire extinguisher servicing, etc.
Monthly performance reporting to the HSE Manager on own work and HSE Officers.
Deal with all onsite issues and communicate timeously with the HSE Manager.
Ensure all safety officers are adequately trained.
Sites, projects and remote entities to be visited and audited on a regular basis.
Education

Grade 12 plus HSE Qualification (NEBOSH)
