Instrumentation Engineer (Electronic or Electrical)
Our client, a World Class Manufacturing Environment company based in the Vaal Triangle has a vacancy for a dynamic Mechanical Engineer with the following:
Design and implement instrument related equipment and project manage it. All activities, roles and responsibilities are aligned to the world class (manufacturing) philosophy, principles and practices.
Qualification:
• Matric (Maths and Science)
• BSc Electronic (Control) or Electrical Engineering
Experience
• 6-10 years Industrial Experience.
• Lean six Sigma – Black Belt (Will be an advantage)
• Government Ticket (Will be an advantage)
Duties
• Prevent occupational and process safety incidents by implementing integral safe design principles.
• Conducting risk assessments for tasks and process deviations.
• Facilitating Design Reviews, risk assessments and Hazop Studies to minimise risks of new projects.
• Find root causes and mitigating actions to prevent/eliminate safety incidents.
• Technical Audits and inspections.

Drive high performance targets with the team:
• Process instrumentation development and design.
• Identify instrumentation deviations, their root causes and take corrective action.
• Driving focused and continuous improvement.
• Review expense report and corrects deviations.
• Correct instrumentation performance deviations.
• Communicate progress to performance indicators to all levels.
• Ensure reliability of processes.
• Ensure stability of automation of processes.
• Managing costs according to budget.
• Providing instrumentation technical support to production facility and maintenance team.
• Providing information for instrumentation drawings and developing instrumentation drawings in conjunction with suppliers and maintenance teams.
• Continuous Improvement of processes.
• Instrumentation equipment sizing, procurement and commissioning.
Effective project and team management:
• Frequent engagement with Production and other relevant stakeholders.
• Resource & Project Management.
• Factoring safety risk, maintenance costs, capital expense into plans.
• Procuring instrumentation equipment.
• Lead in Pre, cold & hot commissioning of purely instrumentation systems (e.g. automation).
• Establishing Basis of Design, conducting feasibility studies and responsible for BEP and managing EPC for projects.
