SNR SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER (INTERNATIONAL) - EE Only

We are currently recruiting for senior level Supply Chain manager in Cape Town. The ideal candidate must have the relevant qualifications together with extensive experience in Supply Chain and / or Logistics (3PL / 4PL). You will be based at their head office in CBD. You will have +_ 4 managers (direct) reporting into you and +- 15 indirect reports.

Key responsibilities / accountabilities:

Lead the supply chain team in daily activities, problem solving, liaising with various departments, and ensuring each purchase order arrives as scheduled to warehouses from local and international suppliers, in accordance with the set guidelines.
Build scalable processes and teams to optimize inbound supply chain strategies for imports while balancing local operating/transportation costs (cross-docking).
Oversee the monthly financial performance for actual vs. budget cost and conducts goal deployment process where appropriate.
Build and develop systems for cross departmental transparency and visibility of the suppliers for adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Lead the tender and SOP process for International, and local courier service providers.
Oversee and manage the adherence to the SOP‘s and KPI’s.
Share knowledge of global ocean and air freight markets and ensure compliance of International suppliers to the supply chain strategies.
Build regulatory understanding and documentation within Supply Chain/QA/R&D/Sourcing for International and local supplier sustainability programs.
Conduct quarterly reviews based on supplier scorecard data to ensure conformance and productivity of suppliers and logistics service providers.
Develop and document International supply chain risk and resilience policies.

Qualifications and experience:

Bachelor’s degree or similar from an accredited educational institution in Supply Chain and/or Logistics. Post
graduate qualification(s) preferrable.
Minimum of 6+ years of experience in supply chain or logistics.
Minimum of 5+ years in directly or indirectly managing people to deliver continuous improvement.
Minimum of 2+ years in 3PL/service provider account and contract management
