RS Recruitment Services is assisting an IT Company, to recruit an IT Desktop/Field Support Engineer
based in Johannesburg.

Purpose of the position: Working where appropriate under the supervision of a level 2 or enterprise engineer, responding to assigned calls using knowledge and expertise to restore service to customer equipment or environment. Maintaining currency of certification and technical qualifications in line with company requirements.

Applicants should have/be the following:
• Minimum Matric with National Diploma or equivalent work-related experience
• A+, N+, MCITP/MCSE with 3 years’ actual desktop support experience
• Experience with the following – Microsoft server, networking, mail exchange – POP etc, IOS/Android/Windows 7-10, General Microsoft printing, Firewalling.
• Linux (preferable but not essential)
• PC support – on site and remote
• Will be required from time to time to travel locally, within Gauteng & nationally.
• Able to work without supervision.

• Administration

Key performance Indicators:
• Problems resolved within agreed time frames
• Project participation and task completion
• Communication and Site Intervention Report quality
• Currency of certification

General: In addition to the KPA’s noted above, all technical service division engineers may be required to assist with customer problem resolution workload from time to time outside of their general areas of qualification. Under such circumstance additional support and guidance will be provided telephonically by senior engineering staff.

Package: Basic salary R14k to R15k (negotiable, depending on experience) + 50% medical aid contribution and company death/disability benefit after 3 months’ probation period. Laptop, cell phone and Incentive performance commission also on offer.
