Your key job responsibilities as the Junior BI Data Analyst in Johannesburg will include:

- Write business requirements specifications
- Business analysis to gather required BI data system requirements
- Able to understand and liaise with the business stakeholders to identify the requirements and documenting the requirements
- Determine current state of business requirements, business terms, and business rules and data source
- Translate business requirements into specifications that will determine data store/ data warehouse/ data mart design and configuration
- Provide support to ensure the availability and performance of enterprise data, and BI environments for internal users
- Actively monitor and maintain scheduling of key production reports ensuring production reports are processing on-time and without errors

Requirements for this Junior BI Data Analyst job in Johannesburg:

- Degree in Information Technology or Business Management, Mathematical/Statistics
- Experience which includes relevant experience BI/MI Data Analytics/Data Modelling
- Data development
- Data engineer
- Data analysis
- Solution analysis
- AGILE behaviour
- Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling)
- In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework (SSIS, SSAS, Ab Initio, Denodo)
- Familiarity with BI technologies (Power BI, MicroStrategy)
- Advanced Knowledge of SQL queries (SQL Server, Netezza, DashDB), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
