SUMMARY

Our global operational expertise across industrial hazardous and non-hazardous wastes enables us to develop an industry-specific waste management plan and implement the most optimal waste management solution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee daily operations of hazardous and non-hazardous waste acceptance, treatment, and disposal.
Monthly reporting on landfill progress, cell development, filling plans, and stormwater management.
Collaborate with internal logistics and external transporters for waste disposal planning.
Assist in developing, promoting, and implementing waste disposal schemes.
Collate statistics, compile reports, handle public inquiries, and address complaints.
Investigate and follow up on claims of illegal dumping.
Consult with residents, community groups, and organizations on waste management issues.
Evaluate data, prepare proposals, and contribute to environmental consulting projects.
Provide engineering analyses, and calculations, and conduct monthly site surveys.
Organize designs, procure necessary data, and use engineering software for projects.
Compile project specifications and complete construction cost estimates.
Manage landfill construction projects, overseeing consultants, contractors, and budgets.
Track and report capital budgets, coordinate landfill capacity tracking and evaluate sites for compliance.
Collaborate with professionals to provide cost-effective engineering solutions for operational and environmental issues.
Offer technical expertise to management, participate in acquisitions and divestitures, and provide mentorship to staff.
Participate in budget reviews, develop optimization programs, and ensure KPIs are regularly assessed.
Schedule material and equipment purchases, and ensure project efficiency within budget and on time.
Provide advice and resolve problems, supervise and mentor staff, and liaise with stakeholders.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

B-Tech/BSC Civil/Rural Engineering qualification
3-5 years’ experience in Earthworks, Waste/Landfill Management
Experience in managing plant and equipment specifically “yellow machines”
Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD is essential
A knowledge of the field of geosynthetics would be an advantage
Must be able to communicate in isiZulu g) Good reporting and presentation skills
