Kontak Recruitment is currently sourcing and recruiting for a Librarian vacancy based in Gaborone Botswana, this post is open only to citizens of Botswana who reside in Gabarone. The Librarian will be responsible for acquiring, organisng, managing and distributing library resources and ensure that library provisions meet the needs of all the users.

Responsible for acquiring, organising, managing, and distributing library resources, and ensuring that library provision meets the needs of all its users.
Manage, organise, evaluate, and disseminate information, providing support to members of an academic community including students, researchers, and lecturing staff.

Educational requirements for the Librarian:
Master’s Degree in Library Science/Studies.
+2 years’ library experience is required.
Computer literacy is essential especially in MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Librarian:
Selecting, cataloguing, and classifying library resources.
To facilitating and support learning by teaching information literacy skills to students and staff within classrooms or virtual learning environments.
To encourage a reading culture (Friendly atmosphere, friendly and inviting learning environment, assist with queries, displays, additional services; Public Pc’s Internet access, printing, copying)
Provide media and support services.
To enforce library rules, policies and procedures and take appropriate action if need be.
To ensure a well-stocked and resourceful library.
