MAINTENANCE MANAGER - COLD STORAGE!

Key Job Outputs

Manage Maintenance team in the Region and take responsibility for all maintenance related to buildings, refrigeration plant, warehouse handling equipment and other equipment;
Health & Safety, Security, Risk and Environmental Management, including reduction in consumption of Electricity, Water and other scarce resources;
Reporting on Maintenance Function to Local Management team and Head Office.
Management of Resources (consumption and cost) and Environmental impact - Electricity, Water, Ammonia and other.
Management of Budget and Cost - Capex, Major maintenance and Operational expenses.


Knowledge, Skills, Attributes

Proven understanding of and experience in functioning of large refrigeration plants;
Proven knowledge of and experience in maintenance principles of warehouse environments;
Proven knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the OHSAct and Environmental law;
Willingness to work in an Ammonia environment with abnormal temperatures and supply support outside normal working hours.
Knowledge of and Experience in an Engineering Maintenance Environment
Knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration and working at low temperatures
Knowledge of and Experience in SHE and Risk Control Systems
Leadership skills - Assertive, Organised and Proactive
Strong Numerical and Communication Skills
Attention to Detail, Good Time management, Deadline and results driven

Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum qualifications, Competence, Experience

Grade 12 equivalent plus relevant Technical Qualification
Technical degree / diploma / recognised Trade test
3 to 5 years relevant management / supervisory experience in engineering disciplines
Computer literate - MS Office, SAP, Project management
