As the General Stores Manager you will be responsible for controlling all receiving stock and purchases as well as issuing materials, supplies, tools and equipment, in a steel manufacturing environment.

Minimum Requirements:
Diploma in Supply Chain Management | Materials Management | Business Administration
Minimum of 3 – 5 year’s experience in storekeeping and warehousing with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity
Knowledgeable in ISO9001, OSHACT, Data Analysis and Inventory Management
Excellent people management, planning, organising and problem-solving skills

Duties and Responsibilities:
Adherence to Inventory policies and procedures
Apply ISO standards and procedures
Control receiving of goods and materials
Control the issue and dispatch of goods and materials
Administer new stock item requests
Control emergency issues after normal working hours
Maintain the layout and setup of the warehouse for the appropriate storage of goods and supplies
Control storage of non-stock and stock goods
Eliminate storage risk by regulating the flow of limited shelf life goods
Remove redundant stock from store as per Line Management request
Generate report on non-movement items as per request
Manage access system and security controls
Assess stock levels
Maintain stock control records and information, such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment for centralised services
Provide feedback of low critical raw materials stock, i.e. Zink to Procurement Manager
Plan and organise stock take and follow up on discrepancies
Keep inventory losses due to deterioration, obsolescence and theft to a minimum
Control computerised record management systems to store and process data
Report anomalies regarding computerised stock inventory system to replenish stock items and adjust stock levels
Supervise document flow and resolve queries
Resolve delivery queries
Prepare and mange departmental budge
Liaise with users, buyers and suppliers in terms of availability of critical materials and equipment
Implement OSHACT
Adherence to environmental policies and regulations to legislations
Provide on the job training where necessary
Assign tasks to subordinates
Maintain industrial relations and teamwork climate
Provide input, monitor and control adherence to the necessary company policies and procedures
Manage leave and sick leave of employees
Manage time and attendance
Do shift scheduling
Organise annual medical examinations
Maintain effective staff communication
