Purpose statement
The Marketing Officer role is to assist the Marketing Manager to develop, coordinate, implement and manage all marketing activities within company, to ensure the marketing plan is executed. The Marketing Officer should have a broad skill set both in digital and above-the-line marketing, who can take a hands-on approach in expanding our brand into new markets.

Reports to: Group Marketing Manager
Duties

Processes - Assist Marketing Manager with the Group’s Value Creation Plans (VCP’s) that are critical in the marketing space, namely:
+ Expanding the Groups client base through industry transformation
+ Growing the advisory footprint
+ Systems strategy – marketing requirements within the newly implemented fully digital business process system
- Maintain corporate identities of the business units.
- Facilitate development of company marketing and communication materials.
- Organise and administer marketing campaigns.
- In conjunction with the Marketing Manager design and implement advertising campaigns most suited to their business segment, markets and budgets.
- Manage social networking aspect of company websites and social media.
- Make well-considered judgments.

Management Information
- Provide marketing management information monthly to the Marketing Manager.
- Provide market research and analysis.
- Monitor the effects of decisions and instigate changes where necessary.
- Implement management decisions and instigate changes where necessary.

People
- Guide, direct and influence people in such a way that outputs are performed at an excellent level.
- Assist in management of a qualified and experienced marketing team to ensure that targets, work and quality standards are set, achieved and maintained throughout the customer experience.
- Track and manage the performance contribution of the team in line with performance management policies, systems and practices.
- Identify strengths and development areas.

Technology -
Monitor and manage all marketing in line with quality specifications and in compliance with policy parameters.
- Evaluate all current marketing activities in the light of current and future demands.
Job Evaluation Criteria Formal Education
+ B.Com Marketing Degree.

Experience:
+ Minimum of 5 years marketing experience in a financial services industry as a Marketing Officer, Marketing Coordinator or Junior Marketing Manager.
+ Experience with expansion of a business’ brand into new target audiences.
+ A keen understanding of the South African population and how demographics should be targeted in a marketing campaign.
+ Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), Adobe Suite will be advantageous.
+ Must be willing to develop into a Marketing Manager or similar role in the next 5 years. This will mean that the applicant will undergo formal training and have a 5-year individual development plan. This plan will include a management course, industry research and other marketing-related experience and training.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, at all levels.
