Job Description
1. Prepare and facilitate - Mathematics and Physical Science tutorial classes and academic support sessions for Grade 12 learners (weekly & during school holidays).
2. Participate in training and development sessions to improve tutoring practices and learn new tutoring techniques.
3. Assess learners’ progress throughout tutoring sessions.
4. Monitor learner performance and provide feedback to learner using positive reinforcement techniques to motivate and build confidence in learners.
5. Maintain records of learners’ assessment results, attendance report and provide feedback of the analysis of such results to schools and business unit manager.
6. Administer, invigilate and mark assessments.
7. Identify gaps in learners’ understanding, develop and implement intervention strategies and tutoring plans for students.
8. Communicate daily work, progress and challenges in written progress reports, in person, by phone, or by WhatsApp as per procedure.
9. Conduct scheduled support and mentorship discussions with each learner throughout the year.
10. Teach students study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies.
11. Attend project management meetings as scheduled and required

Educational Requirements:
• Grade 12 Certificate with strong academic performance in Mathematics and Physical Science (minimum of 70% in both subjects).
• Mathematics and Physical Science at a post matric level (i.e. tertiary level), is an added advantage.

Minimum Skills Required
• At least 2 years previous experience in teaching and or tutoring
• knowledge of the DBE
• Grade 12 Mathematics and Physical Science Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) - is an advantage
• Fluency in English and understanding of specific subject terms and language
