About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with government and labour to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position
• Mechanical Engineer Assistant.
Duties

• Analyse problems to see how mechanical and thermal devices might help solve a particular problem.
• Design or redesign mechanical and thermal devices or subsystems.
• Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and to recommend remedies.
• Completing BOQ’s
Requirements
• Matric
• 3 years Degree/ National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent NQF Level 6
• At least 1 year relevant experience
• Innovative problem- solving and analytical skills
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently.
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills and apply them as needed knowledge excel.
• Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
• Good communication skills along with good or developing negotiation skills.
• Ability to identify sensitive issues and facilitate communications in a proactive manner to avoid surprises.
• Willingness and ability to adapt to new circumstances, information, and challenges.
• Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude.
• Aged between 18 and 29.
• Must be Unemployed.
• Must not have taken part on the YES Programme before
• Candidates must reside in Germiston and surrounding areas.
