PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Ensure operational status of our clients IT Wide Area Network, Local Area Network Wi-Fi infrastructure and Internet Services. Position is based in the West Rand / Roodepoort. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Global IT Network Operations
• Provide global 1st line & or 2nd line network support.
• Conduct daily checks of all branch networks operational status and ensure
   operational continuity
• Ensure that all Network systems are backed up and systems are operational
   and working
• Ensure all support calls are completed as per PMA - KPI
• Ensure 99.999 % uptime and support of area of responsibility ( No unplanned
   downtime)

Support Network Infrastructure
• Ensure proper network equipment setup and configuration
• Ensure network cabling and racks are neat at all times and labelled
• Installation, configuration and support of all wireless and network
   infrastructure
• Provide 2nd level support to security infrastructure, Wi-Fi Scanner, IP CCTV
   and WMS hardware network support etc.
• Ensure proper and up to date documentation (DRP processes, procedures)

Monitor Network Performance
• Ensure that all network devices are configured correctly, monitored and
  maintained for optimum network performance
• Provide 2nd line support for monitoring services (24x7) ensuring faulty
  equipment resolution
• Ensure unmonitored devices are investigated and reported
• Ensure network drawings are up to date
• Ensure all configurations are backed up and accessible

Provide Security Support and Maintenance Security Posture
• Configure & Support 3rd party, internet and outside customers/clients VPN
   Services
• Provide administration & support of internet user access, internet breakouts,
   secure VPN services, Internet proxies & Firewall
• Monitor user behavior, data usage on internet and generate appropriate
   reports
• Ensure daily maintenance and changes on Firewall, forward and reverse
   proxies (rule changes)
• Provide Firewall and proxy software / security updates

Support Infrastructure Projects
• Provide support to new installations and network upgrades in line with
   operational requirements
• Be involved in network related technical aspects.
• Provide supplier\third party assistance where required
• Coordinate all new network installations and ensure quality of installation


REQUIREMENTS:
• Relevant qualification, CCNA or a technical network related qualification
• Business English: Fluent
• Code 8 Motor Vehicle License
• Travel off site / overnight stay / SA and Africa (SA Passport)
• Working after hours and weekends (Standby)
• Computer Literacy
• MS Office
• Project Management Experience
• Network Experience (OSPF, Wi-Fi, VLANS, VPN)
• Troubleshooting Skills (Network performance, VPN, Wi-Fi, Internet )
• Work in confined spaces (Network rooms)
• Cisco Experience
• Firewall Experience (Cisco \ Sophos)
• Proxy Experience (Bluecoat \ Cisco WSA)
