Job Function
The Operational Excellence Business Analyst (OE BA) is responsible to support the effective implementation of the operational excellence (OE) deployment program, aimed at embedding an OE culture, operating policies of the LEAN management framework and the achievement of results from this initiative in his/her specific area of responsibility. He/ she is required to support the business with identification of improvements by means of strategic business analysis, that will realise results that improve service levels, lower cost or improve profitability for both clients and the Business.
Through the participation in and facilitation of continuous improvement workshops for all operations within the business unit, knowledge sharing and coaching of staff, on OE methodologies and tools (including Lean, Six Sigma, SCOR), the OE BA will contribute to instilling a culture of effective team problem solving and operational excellence.

Key performance areas
• Assists in driving the deployment of the OE initiatives aimed at embedding an OE culture in the business.
• The BA works closely with the Solutions and Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager, OE management in other operating companies within the Imperial Logistics Transport and Warehousing Division and the Centre of Excellence, and supports the practices and operating policies of the OE deployment framework, as well as the successful utilisation of the OE deployment framework and the results obtained.
• Support and is aligned to, the business strategic matrix (Hoshin X matrix) and OE deployment plan per BU and its divisions / departments.
• Supports driving the OE training program across Imperial Managed Solutions and is responsible for training, developing, and supporting the OE practitioners, process owners & project leads in OE.
• Responsible for internal CI project identification, prioritisation and selection; monitoring project progress (and where required do or oversee project management of identified improvement initiatives), tracking project results and reporting on progress toward ILTW goals and objectives.
• Participate in and facilitate Kaizen events, Kaizens (and value engineering projects if applicable) and in the process ensures knowledge sharing and coaching of staff on Operational Excellence methodologies and tools (including Lean, Six Sigma, SCOR).
• Responsible for strategic, process and data analysis to drive business improvements that results in benefits such as improved service levels, lower cost or improved profitability for customers and Imperial Managed Solutions.
• Lends support for the successful roll-out of structured team meetings, communication plan and knowledge management.

Qualifications required
• A tertiary qualification in B.Eng. (Industrial) preferred or Hons. Logistics, Logistics Management or similar degree
• A relevant recognised qualification for Lean (or Lean Six Sigma)
• 3-5 years or more in a similar role, with relevant industry experience.
• Logistics and Supply Chain management knowledge would be an advantage.

Skills and experience required
• Advanced knowledge and use of OE / CI tools; trained in Lean or Lean Six Sigma.
• Ability to manage a programme with multiple stakeholders involved
• Sound presentation skills.
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
• A professional and service driven approach to dealing with clients.
• Understand and can autonomously address the following: – Process Mapping and Value Stream Mapping – Flow, Taktime, Heijunka, 5S, Visual Management, 8 Wastes
• Attention to detail, self-motivated and confident.
• Good time management ability.
• Professional in manner and appearance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with a business intelligence tool will be an advantage.
