Job Title Portfolio Manager

Purpose statement
The individual occupying this position is responsible the marketing of EFPC’s investment products, participation in the EFPC’s investment meetings and meeting with, and answering, the queries of prospective and current clients as well as other stakeholders. The individual is expected to have advanced portfolio management, client interaction and trading experience.

The key performance indicators will be:
1. Meeting with new and existing clients
2. Proactively participating in the investment team
3. Client communication
4. Fundamental research and investment idea generation

Director: Business development & Chief Investment Officer

Achieve key performance indicators.

Duties

Philosophy
Ensure the investment philosophy and processes are consistently adhered to and implemented across all portfolios and investment solutions managed by EFPC.

People
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry peers, service providers, and financial advisors.
Liaise with analysts and equity dealers.
Liaise with economics, marketing and administrative divisions.

Processes
The following is expected from the candidate:
- New and existing client engagements
- Portfolio construction and implementation
- Attribution monitoring
- Conducts fundamental analyses (including creating/reviewing company investment cases)
- Monitors company valuations and price changes, along with global economic trends/themes
- Provides company and thematic analyses for consideration during investment meetings
- Review, observe and monitor valuations of companies using various methods.
- Assist with the generation of investment strategies on macro and company level.
- Monitor and review performances, risk and asset allocation models, using various methods.
- Develop, review and make recommendations for changes where necessary.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and streamline work processes to provide quality execution within the investment team.

Marketing
Deliver presentations to investors and interested parties.
Produce commentary for clients.
Participate in the EFPC Market Call.
Produce reports and statements for media.

Job Evaluation
Criteria
Formal Education:
Graduate degree
Required regulatory compliance qualifications

Experience:
Previous 3-5 portfolio management experience

Language requirements:
Strong Afrikaans communication ability
