Job Description:

The incumbent will be responsible for

Pre-season crop projection analysis linking the company’s production units to the company’s RSA local and international supply programs, in close cooperation with Production Units, and the company's Technical- and Commercial teams. Assess deviations / shortages / over-supply of categories-, sizes- and other fruit characteristics with client requirements and do the necessary adjustments to rectify non-adherences.
Compile and weekly maintain packing facilities‘ allocations taking into consideration relevant production units crop- projections, harvest planning and market requirements and/or developments, ensuring fruit supply to the company’s key clients in predetermined supply windows.
Take into consideration target market segments statutory Food Safety requirements, when aligning packing plans with overseas programs.
Close co-operation with the company’s technical staff (agronomists) in growing regions, and the company’s Marketing-/ Commercial team, to ensure that fruit quality characteristics planned for harvest and packing are continuously correctly matched with fruit specifications stipulated by clients.
Manage any special packing material requirements to ensure materials are available where relevant to pack houses for packing purposes, matching clients’ requirements. Monitor materials stock distribution and ensure the company’s Finance division is informed to recover relevant cost of such materials from relevant packing facilities.
Liaise with the company’s logistics operator, to ensure necessary predetermined shipping opportunities are planned to prevent ageing of stock, and timeous shipping of packed produce to reach clients within agreed time windows.

7. Ensure maximising of Net Farm Revenue / -Income by supplying key programs locally and internationally with correctly matched perishable product at the right time, in the correct, cost effective packaging.

Qualifications:

Tertiary education of minimum a Bachelors degree at a recognised South African University in Commerce, Finance, Marketing and / or Logistics is a pre-requisite.

The following experience will support an application:

Experience in the Fresh Produce (fresh fruit) industry,
Previous involvement in export of perishable commodities,
Extensive experience in Windows including PowerPoint, advanced Excel (Macros) and Word.
