OVERALL JOB FUNCTION
Vacancy exist within the Production department. The position requires confident individuals who are capable of managing a production shift independently. The ideal incumbents will have to be energetic and a committed individual with broad experience in the production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
? Actively achieve daily production targets.
? Monitor and investigate instances of raw material and production variances against budget.
? Ensure effective planned maintenance and breakdowns on shifts.
? Confirms the availability of labour at the start of the shift and where necessary organize replacement labour.
? Conducts random inspections of production equipment in the department at both the start and end of shift.
? Investigate the causes of productivity and performance problems and take corrective action when necessary.
? Monitor and control waste within the shift to ensure that optimum efficiencies are maintained on all machines.
? Clearly defines expectations, delegates appropriately, empowering others to manage challenges.
? Deals effectively with diverse work styles and differing environments.
? Ensure that all process control checks are timeously carried out by the operators, through the conducting of random checks of their process control sheet, run chart and S.P.C charts

REQUIREMENTS
Education
? Grade 12 (Matric)
? ND/B-Tech Prod Mngmnt/ND/BSc/B-Tech Indust/Chem/Mech Eng or related qualification
? 1 – 3 years minimum supervisory/Team-Leader/Junior Managerial Experience in Production
? Broad experience and knowledge of production processes in manufacturing
? Tyre Industry experience will be an advantage
