Reporting to the Production Superintendent, successful candidates will be responsible for the management of production-related activities of an allocated shift to ensure that production targets are met as well as improve Overall Equipment Efficiencies.

Key performance areas:

• Planning and implementation of the production functions;
• Management of the production process, plant machinery and Idwala assets;
• Mobilise resources to ensure achievement of production objectives;
• Management of the key performance areas of subordinates;
• Cost control of raw material and labour utilisation;
• Effective operation of Production processes;
• Custodian of Company norms, values and safety standards as per 2.9.2 appointment;
• Promote and maintain health, safety and environmental standards;
• Promote and maintain ISO 9002 standards
• Communicate and implement compliance to the Mine Health and Safety Act, maintain a zero harm workplace through actively enforcing adherence to the companies COPS, policies, procedures and associated safety standards;
• Overseeing and performing Electrical isolations and resets
The ideal incumbent should meet the following criteria:

• A recognized tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or the equivalent– Electrical Trade test
• Sound knowledge of the production processes
• At least five years related experience in the mining or process environment.
• A valid driver’s license is essential
• Previous supervisory experience is imperative
• Computer literate, have knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) and JDE
• Leadership ability in order to motivate and maintain a team spirit
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English i.e. read, write and speak
• Must be medically fit in terms of the relevant legislation and the Company standards for medical fitness
