This is a senior management role that takes accountability for the following main areas:
? Directing, monitoring and reporting on information system development and investments across Insure, with a main focus on ST Admin and Western,
? Establish technology standards for systems and infrastructure across Insure (main focus ST Admin & Western) and ensure adherence thereto,
? Manage, maintain and report on IT infrastructure within the ST Admin and Western infrastructures, and coordinate IT infrastructure developments in ST Distribution through liaison with the Distribution CTO,
? Identify key initiatives in system and infrastructure investments that can increase revenue or effect cost savings across Insure,
? Reduce total cost of ownership for information systems and infrastructure with a specific focus on ST Admin and Western,
? Ensure implementation and compliance to group technology governance policies (Procurement, SLA, Escrow, DR, BC, Security, BYOD, POPI),
? Plan, manage and monitor Insure IT CAPEX and OPEX budgets to ensure maximum return on investment,
? Assist in building and managing an integrated IT team across Insure, and ensure appropriate overlap and alignment with other Group IT sections, in particular the Distribution IT team,
? Develop, advise, monitor and report on Insure MIS systems and initiatives,
? Supervise prioritization of web and software development for Insure purposes,
? Identify IT relevant opportunities and risks within Insure,
? Communicate Insure’s technology strategy to management and employees,
? Identifying trends in technology, predicting future needs and implementing solutions within Insure,
? Manage the relationship with outsourced IT service providers within the ST Administration and Western business units,
? Manage Insure IT on sound business and ethical principles,
? Undertake people management and development of direct reports

Distribution IT function is managed by Distribution CTO. The Insure CTO will have joint responsibility for the Short-term component of Distribution, requiring close cooperation with the Distribution CTO.

Minimum Requirements ? Have a relevant tertiary qualification (BSc. Honours Information systems management or similar) ? Minimum 5 years’ experience within the financial services industry ? Past information systems management experience, at senior level ? SQL & Ski, advantageous
