We are seeking a Project Manager in Cape Town. This is a permanent position and the appointment will be in terms of the company’s Employment Equity Plan.

Please note that this is not a position for a site representative (Employer’s Agent Representative/ Resident Engineer/ Clerk of works).

The salary will be market related and dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of the planning, design and construction of government subsidized housing developments and other construction projects from inception to completion.
Management of professional multi-disciplinary team/s responsible for the township establishment and environmental authorization processes related to government subsidized housing projects.
Management of professional multi-disciplinary team/s responsible for the planning, design and construction of engineering and building projects from inception to completion.
Management of construction contracts as Employer’s Agent/Principal Agent.
Preparation of tender documents.
Preparation of reports (Project Inception, Concept and Viability, Design, tender evaluation, progress, financial, close-out, etc.)
Day-to day contract administration and management of housing projects.
Provide construction oversight for quality control and expediting of design clarifications.
Review of contractors Quality Control Plans and Construction Method Statements.
Handling of technical queries and resolutions and leading Site and Technical Meetings on site, including the taking of minutes.
Preparing Payment Certificates.
Communicate frequently with all professionals and clients.
Handling of technical queries and dispute resolutions in conjunction with others.
Assist with project safety and environmental matters during construction.
General office and project related admin if required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

At least a bachelor’s degree in the built environment (Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural, Construction/Building Management)
Registration with SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager.
Registration with ECSA/SACAP will be advantageous but not essential.
At least 8 years’ verifiable post graduate experience in the project management of

Professional multi-disciplinary team/s responsible for the township establishment and environmental authorization processes related to government subsidized housing projects
Professional multi-disciplinary team/s responsible for the planning, design and construction of engineering and building projects from inception to completion.
Efficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Office Project.
Experience in the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, in particular BIM360 Docs, ACC Docs and ACC Build will be advantageous.
Must be an effective communicator (personal, phone, writing, email; etc.
