Quantity Surveyor

Company based in Silverton is in need of a qualified Quantity Surveyor.

Desired Experience & Qualification:
Related Degree or Diploma
Experience in a similar role - not less than 3 years
MS Office experience essential- candidate must be highly skilled in Excel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To draw up and assist clients with quotes/prices required
To develop the Project estimates for various projects. This includes industrial and warehouse structures
Obtain quotations from material suppliers etc. as required
Resolve problems where production lists issued are not clear or factory has queries.
Attend to problems from Customers regarding materials outstanding or short delivered.
Responsible for the issuing of orders as allocated by Technical Office Manager.
Check issues against drawings issued by Technical Coordinator.
Ensure that the quantities issued correspond to the quote.
Ensure that all issues are being submitted to the Technical Office Manager.
Variations for extras to be made out and approved (order received) before issuing for manufacturing. Follow up on approval on a daily basis.
Visit customers to measure up for quotes and orders as and when required.
Offer technical advice to customers over the phone and via e-mail as and when required.
Preparation of monthly claims and accounts on all projects together with Technical Office Manager to ensure final accounts is correct and work has been done.
Complete all paperwork necessary for the processing of progress payment and/or final payment certification.
Visit sites, where appropriate and/or required to ensure claims are correct.
Ensure variations form part of the claims.
Ensure that monthly payment certificates are being received on a monthly basis and follow up when not received
