Regional Sales Manager (Agricultural Irrigation Technology) | Eastern JHB, Gauteng


Urgently seeking a seasoned sales guru with a strong agricultural background in fields of engineering or agronomy, with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in Sales/Marketing management within the agribusiness (agricultural equipment sales and/or irrigation business).

You will be responsible for developing workable strategies to meet the organization’s objectives in relation to sales targets, market share and profitability. Additionally, you will manage and grow the sales team, and the regional dealer network.


Minimum Requirements/Criteria include:
• Degree in Agricultural Engineer / Sales / Marketing
• MBA would be highly preferable
• At least 10 years’ experience in Sales/Marketing management within the agricultural equipment sales and/or irrigation business
• Solid background / understanding / knowledge of the fields of engineering or agronomy
• Demonstrable track record of successful sales in agribusiness or related
• Excellent negotiation, verbal and written communication skills are essential
• Willingness to travel within the region



Your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) :
• Collaborating with the marketing division to ensure the development of marketing plans & activities per region.
• Gathering sales forecast on a monthly basis & communicating closely with Supply Chain Manager to align capacity with dealer and customer demands & expected lead times.
• Supporting the GM in monthly and quarterly sales performance, sales forecasts and agrees annual operating plan, associated budgets and sales strategies, monitor performance against this, initiating corrective action where necessary to ensure financial parameters and targets are achieved
• Maintaining awareness of markets, competitor activities and potential challenges within the region
• Overseeing the aftermarket spare parts business and pricing and driving achievement of targets within that business unit.



Location: Successful incumbent will primarily be based in Johannesburg East, Gauteng. (Delmas, Bethe l, Middelburg, Nigel, eastern suburbs of Johannesburg or Pretoria)
