Job Description

Ensure that the Occupational Health and Safety & Environmental compliance function is implemented, effectively performed, updated and monitored in accordance with legislated requirements.
Conduct risk assessments
Investigate and consider any IOD incidents and take the appropriate corrective action/measures to eliminate any recurrences.
Responsible for the Health and Safety induction of new staff.
Responsible for the compilation of all contract site safety files to the clients’ specifications.
Ensure that adequate security records are maintained.
Submit monthly reports on the status of the Loss Control Department to management
Effective communication with internal Directors, Technical Manager, Project Manager, General Manager, Workshop Supervisor, other Safety Officers, Tenants and Sub-Contractors on an on-going basis, ensuring compliance with the minimum disruption of operations.
Assisting in HR in regards to discipline procedures and relating matters

Minimum Requirements

Matric plus a Samtract, Nebosch or other safety qualification.
At least 5 yrs solid experience within a heavy industry environment
Driver’s license.
