Our Client, a leader in the transport and logistics industry in the Western Cape, is seeking to employ a Secretary/Administrative Clerk at their offices in Wellington, Western Cape. Your main functions will include; general secretarial duties and general administration.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of Grade 12;
Minimum of 2-5 years’ proven experience in a similar role;
Must be computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, Internet Explorer, MS Outlook and Paste/VIP (Advantageous);
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Must have the ability to work independently;
Must have a positive attitude, be self-motivated and reliable.
Must be able to work under pressure.

COMPETENCIES:
Handling of incoming calls and taking messages.
Making calls on behalf of management if necessary.
Arranging appointments, meetings etc.
Responsible for handling all typing work for the operating support.
Receive, sort and finalisation (where available) of all incoming mail.
Follow-up of all correspondence.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
Staff: (Drivers, assistants, general workers)
Recording of driver information on personal files drivers’ files. –
Forwarding of all new information to staff administration for updating staff records on the VIP system driver’s information loading database.
Complete drivers ' “clearance” forms and update of drivers ' disciplinary history on VIP and for the interim also on Excel.

GENERAL
Typing of monthly reports for operating support staff.
Typing minutes for department meetings.
Filing.
Stock control – Regular recordings and liaison with relevant manager, regarding kitchen inventory of the operating support.
Handling, record keeping and checking of the publishing of protected clothing to drivers, assistants, general workers and mechanics by company policy and procedures.
