Responsible to implement production business plan for section and execute plan to meet production targets, safely and within financial budgeted targets. Resource section to achieve maximum utilization of equipment and labour efficiencies.
• Blasting Certificate OR National Certificate Rock Breaking Underground Hard Rock Level 3
• B Tech Diploma or B Sc Degree in Mining Engineering
• Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
• A minimum of 5 years practical mining experience in a production environment of which 3 years must be as a Mine Overseer and/or Section Manager
• Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate)
• Valid Driver’s Licence
Advantageous (Skills, Competencies, Experience & Qualifications)
• Underground Mining trackless experience
• Massive underground knowledge and experience

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Accountable for continuous operational improvement be implementing identified best practice and ensure adherence to mining technical standards
• Continuously monitor production information to determine adherence to production targets and to monitor process efficiencies
• Control and co-ordinate all activities to achieve optimum production throughput, process efficiency, product security and information integrity
• Evaluate processes or systems or products or new developments to identify opportunities and deficiencies to ensure continuous improvement
• Interpret production requirements to develop a production plan to ensure the effective utilisation of resources and the attainment of production targets
• Responsible for the mines operational effectiveness by mining responsibly in accordance to best practice principles
• Responsible to ensure that all people in the section are trained and up skilled
• Responsible to ensure that set targets are met in line with the business plan
• Responsible to ensure the delivery of projects within agreed timelines, budget and quality
• Responsible to obtain and manage applicable resources needed
• Responsible to respond to risks in area of responsibility
• Must be able to work shifts, overtime and be able to do standby, callouts (when required)
• Required to perform other duties that may reasonably be expected within the Company from time to time.
• Ensure compliance to Statutory requirements and Mine Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practice
