Senior Actuarial Specialist (Reporting & Analytics)

Support the Reporting and Analytics Actuary. Responsible for developing the actuarial analysis & reporting capability and the pricing of large group arrangements. The incumbent will be expected to interact with internal stakeholders at all levels.
• Development and maintenance of tools to analyse actuarial and business data in order to enhance management reporting as well as client reporting
• Support in the management of, and reporting on, international pooling arrangements, including review of operating guide
• Review and analysis of valuation data, processes and results of group risk products’ performance to gain a deeper understanding and insight into business results and emerging trends
• Input into the improvement and development of GAP data and systems
• Automation of models and business processes
• Pricing of (large) group risk arrangements
• Provide technical oversight and support, for group risk products in particular, to finance and servicing areas
• Provide technical input and support to other areas within GAP Actuarial, for example product maintenance, risk management, product development and Africa growth strategy.
• Training & development of junior actuarial students

• Senior actuarial student making good progress with exams (exceptional candidates who don’t meet this requirement may be considered)
• At least 3 years actuarial experience
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Good communication skills and have the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
• Highly motivated and energetic self-starter who is good at working with complex tasks under tight deadlines
• Group Assurance pricing experience would be an advantage
• Experience in the Group Risk or Employee Benefits industry would be an advantage
• Experience in using VBA, SQL, R, Tableau or Power BI would be an advantage l3.8o
