As a Design Manager you will be responsible for leading the design effort within the office and for ensuring consistency with systems and standards. Specific managerial responsibilities will include:

Overseeing design presentations.
Introduces design concepts to current and prospective clients.
Monitors project design development.
Provides design direction and support.
Attracts, manages and develops staff.
Manages projects within established design budgets.
Enhances public awareness of the companies’ design capabilities and accomplishments through interaction with PR consultants and design/business trade publications.
Contributes to local and worldwide business development goals.
Provides design review of marketing materials, brochures, mailings, and other visual materials with graphic design content.
Maintains awareness of industry trends (such as related-technology and green design), educates staff, and modifies practices.

Designing workplace solutions in a team-based environment, you will be required to deliver truly innovative designs that meet and excel our clients’ expectations. Clients’ vision will be enabled through intelligent solutions and clear communication.

You will confidently collaborate with internal project teams, supporting them through active design input and the management of all phases of the design process from concept and client brief through to on-site implementation.

As an effective communicator, a lateral thinker, and a conscientious team player you will effectively sell both yourself and the Company to all stakeholders, actively seeking and developing personal networks, fostering long term client associations and developing new and repeat business opportunities.

Required skills and attributes:

– Demonstrated ability to manage and lead staff through a combination of direct authority and subject-matter expertise.

– Working knowledge of budget preparation and proven ability to manage projects within budgetary constraints

– Excellent commercial awareness

– Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, especially on work for pitches and tenders

– Ability to manage your own time and that of relevant others responsibly and effectively

– A positive and professional ‘can do’ attitude
