Senior Pricing Actuary
Cape Town or London

This role is for a technical pricing actuary within the CUSAC Region which covers Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and the Caribbean. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, communication skills and an in-depth knowledge of the Life Health insurance and reinsurance industry.

• Review and assist with the development of Terms of Trade
• Pricing support in all types of business
• Support with tenders from existing and new clients
• Risk Exposure assessment and management
• Process reviews for actuarial pricing and monitoring
• Pricing reviews on existing business

• Qualified actuary with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
• Pricing experience at a direct insurer is essential but pricing experience at a reinsurance would be advantageous
• Prepared to work across multiple time zones
• Prepared to spend time outside of the country as the role involves global travel
• Highly collaborative in working style and approach
• Able to work independently
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to summarise complex information and present at conferences.
• Exposure to mortality and morbidity experience studies
• GGY Axis knowledge
• Actuarial modelling skills
• Statistical analysis including machine learning techniques to support experience reviews
• Coding skills in VBA, SQL, R or other statistical coding environments
• An interest in analytics and modelling mortality/morbidity experience e2.6g
