About the company:
A non-profit company, providing free, comprehensive health services to communities nationwide is recruiting for a Senior Procurement Officer.
Duties Include:
• Head up the procurement officers (3)
• Proactively liaise with programme managers to forecast equipment
• Develop an annual procurement plan and tender documents
• Manage new vendor contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures including BBB-EE status
• Process purchase orders and co-ordinate timeous asset delivery
• Constantly monitors the supplier market to source, select and negotiate in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services
• Manage supplier relationships and execute supplier performance management
• Handle and monitor claims linked to defective, shortage or missing parts
• Maintain a comprehensive records and pricing archive
• Source new products, bulk savings, suppliers to optimize category spend
• Collaborate with the senior asset officer to maintain a database of assets and inspect procured items to ensure they comply with
specifications required
• Provide advice to the finance department on all matters pertaining to procurement
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Goods Management / Procurement or Purchasing related qualification
• 5 years’ experience in a procurement based role or relevant experience in accounting and/or auditing
• 3 years’ experience at a supervisory level
• Advanced IT literacy especially Excel and WORD
• Valid code 08 driver's license
• Clear criminal record
