We currently have the above vacancy and wish to invite suitably qualified applicants to submit their details for our consideration. This position will be based in Stellenbosch. The ideal candidate must have experience with Indirect Category Procurement for a large scale operation (preferably in FMCG / Manufacturing / Production environment). This position will only consider Employment Equity candidates.


REQUIREMENTS:
• A relevant tertiary Qualification in Supply Chain or Procurement field AND/OR Packaging related qualification
• CIPS will be an advantage
• 8 to 10 years of Procurement experience (FMCG / Manufacturing / Production or similar large scale national operation) of which 5 years within strategic sourcing is preferred.
• Packaging related experience is compulsory.
• Proven Capabilities related to Strategic Purchasing / Procurement
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people of all levels.
• Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities and deliver high quality output under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Working Knowledge of contracts and SLA’s.
• Proven category management development and implementation strategies (preferred).
• Team orientation, with a strong sense of commitment to team members.
• Strong communication skills and highly professional presence.
• Attention to detail is critical in this role.
• Strategic thinking, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Advanced computer knowledge skills – MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.


RESPONSIBILITIES - JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Process implementation for procurement related to goods and services.
• Manage and develop resources to deliver business partner satisfaction and achievement of overall business and financial objectives.
• Negotiate favourable contractual terms and conditions for the business with suppliers.
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
• Deliver on cost reduction commitments through the identification, development and execution of innovative strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Develop and implement efficiencies, standardized tools, practices and procedures shortening the quotation, RFP and decision making and evaluation time.
• Implement and maintain category management processes and reviews on a regular basis to ensure relevance and conformance with best practices, and to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies.
• Work cross-functionally to support KPI and Savings initiatives with other departments i.e. R & D, Quality, etc.
• Ensures business partner satisfaction and achievement of overall business and financial objectives.
• Establish Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) practices and reinforces through regular benchmarking, periodic RFP's and supplier performance metrics reporting.
• Contributes towards achieving Departmental KPI’s.
• Minimises risk in area of responsibility, by ensuring due diligence in all areas.
• Assists with Vendor Application Processes and queries (Service Level Agreements, Credit Applications etc.).
• Provides Support to Head of Procurement: Other.
