SHEQ Coordinator – Manufacturing | Johannesburg

Purpose of Position:

Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a SHEQ Coordinator for a permanent position in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The purpose of the position is to offer expert knowledge and skills in order to generate and promote a positive SHEQ culture and compliance within the technical department of the business unit.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric; Chemistry related Qualification (preferably Analytical Chemistry)
• 4-8 Years Packaging, Print or Food technology industry experience within in supervisory or management position
• Project Management from conceptualisation, implementation, monitoring and reporting
• SPC, Quality control methodology
• Lean Principles or Continuous Improvement background
• Customer complaints management, product recall and traceability systems knowledge
• Non conformance process management (internal and external)
• Health, safety and environmental training
• Lead auditor experience
• Regulatory knowledge on SHEQ
• Crisis management and risk assessment
• Implementation, monitoring and training on total quality management (QA & QC) or food safety quality management systems (FSQMS)
• Experience and /or exposure to Six-Sigma reporting
• Materials (substrates, inks & solvents) printing process knowledge
• Good balance of assertiveness, co-cooperativeness, performance driver and goal orientated
• Computer Literacy: MS office, CRM & Business Information Systems


Duties:
• To offer expert knowledge and skills in order to generate and promote a positive health, safety, environmental and Quality Systems culture.
• To plan, direct, and coordinate all SHEQ activities and ensure compliance with legislation or regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
• To ensure that the plant meets all the requirements of the Quality Management System as defined by the Quality Manual, Core Procedures, plant Work Instructions and the ISO, FSC & BRC International Standard.
• To manage the health & safety of all employees, visitor’s and contractors associated with the Company,
through effective hazards identification and reduction strategies
• Management abilities – relate and build relationships with people at all levels of the organisation, including diverse
cultures; Budgeting and cost management, business acumen
