Job Description:

Trade Finance and Banking
Manage forward exchange contracts, booking, record keeping, application to payments and recons thereoff
Handle Forex payments and the accounting thereof
Ensure banking relations through the coordination of authorised users, bank account administration and FOREX facilities
Set up / changes to banking platforms, internal controls and Administrator duties
General Ledger Bookkeeping (IFRS)
Prepare month end closing of legal entities
Maintain a complete and accurate trial balance through posting of bank statements and journals
Reconcile accounts denominated in various currencies (i.e. Rand, USD, GBP & Euro)
Review and analyse debtors and creditors aging with respective team members
Manage external audits and attend to queries by auditors
Lead SARS interaction: All VAT and Income tax submission submissions & handling of queries
Co-ordinate and review International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) financial statements
Take the lead on the upkeep of financial processes
Implement financial internal controls and ensure the necessary compliance thereof
Financial planning & analysis
Prepare and communicate monthly accounts (actual vs. budget vs. forecast) to management
Report on accounts to Group stakeholders
Manage and prepare monthly working capital and cashflow forecasting
Coordinate company and departmental budget process
Profit and loss forecasting and five-year planning
Analyse and report on profitability per cost centre of expenses
Grower Payments
Lead the grower payment process
Liaise with Sales team to ensure approved pricing is invoiced to customers
Assist in the control of costs in the supply chain through regular interaction with the Logistical team
Ensure continuous reconciliation of Logistical Export system and accounting platforms (ledgers and Pastel)
Learn International Commercial Terms (INCO terms) to effectively monitor cost in our supply chain
Manage the accounting team as a whole to understand the full payment cycle, co-ordination thereof and having the platforms in place to handle themselves
Continuous data integrity checks
Commission, Royalty and any other grower setups from a financial point of view with IT in advance of season (new, changes, removals)
Lead the POOL recon and POOL accounting and Agent vs. Principle (Project management)
Managing accountants
Leading a team of 3 Financial Accountants

Qualifications:

Chartered Accountant of South Africa – CA (SA) or equivalent (e.g. CIMA/SAIPA qualification)
Bachelor in Accounting (Honours degree)
Commercial experience (post-articles)
Group Reporting
ERP system experience
Inventory/Export systems experience
IFRS Knowledge
Computer literacy (MS Office)
