Technical Sales Consultant - Rotary Automation
Salary: R18K Basic + Commission & Incentives
Purpose of Position:
Complement Recruitment are recruiting for an External Technical Sales Consultant, or Sales Engineer for the Rotary and Automation sector, these are permanent positions based in Ballito, Durban, Kwazulu Natal as well as in Johannesburg, Gauteng. Core duties and functions are to generate new business clientele in the manufacturing, engineering, robotics and automation systems industry and provide technical sales & field service support to clients, emphasizing long-term relationships. Selling the entire product & portfolio range to new and existing clients, targeting outreach and marketing as well as providing quotes on demand within the Industrial, Manufacturing, Automotive and Mining industries.
Minimum Requirements:
• 3-5 years Direct External Sales Experience in a similar Engineering, Technical Niche industry (Industrial, Mechanical, Automotive - Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Bearings, Actuators and Robotics industries)
• Durban Candidate - based within the Amanzimtoti, Richards Bay, Ballito area – Travel to Pinetown, Pietermaritzburg, Hillcrest twice a month.
• JHB Candidate - able to travel throughout Gauteng, remote/satellite, existing client base beneficial in the technical sectors as above, but not essential
• Valid Code B driver’s license; Local travelling
• Computer Literate: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, robotics and automation systems industry non negotiable
• Technical aptitude & technical sales skills in turnkey solution selling
• Product range includes bearing guides, actuators, ball spline, couplings, telescopic & linear rails & guides, motor feedback systems
Minimum Education Requirements:
• Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematic Literacy
• Tertiary: Marketing Diploma; Sales Diploma; Technical Qualification – Engineering related
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Generating sales – self starter “hit the ground running”
• New business development
• Customer education (including on-site technical assistance & field breakdown technical duties)
• Existing business retention
• Internal/external customer satisfaction
• Product knowledge
• Report generation
• Territory management
• Presentation capability to new clients, showcasing product portfolio
Package Breakdown:
Basic salary; car allowance; fuel; laptop & cell phone
Scaled Commission is paid on value of orders secured and invoiced – “determine your own salary” mindset (no cap)
