RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting the Services Workshop Manager in establishing a scope of work
Advising on the most appropriate method of repairs.
As part of supporting the Sales Department, the Support Engineer plays a crucial role in establishing technical specifications during tender processes.
After the specifications are clearly defined and the Sales Department submits the tender, the Support Engineer takes on the responsibility of overseeing the technical aspects of the contract. This involves overseeing the implementation of any necessary modifications to the manufacturing or servicing process, which may be required due to technical issues, skill requirements, or machine availability
Assist the Project Engineers/Administrators in reviewing the RFQ requirements
Act as a Quality Controller on behalf of the Sales Department, to ensure work is carried out following the agreed-recommended repair scope, technical requirements and adherence
The task involves identifying new technologies suitable for integrating into the local spare parts manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with both MDT and International Technical Standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A strong technical (engineering) background.
BSC Mechanical/ Diploma Engineering (With a focus on the design of rotating equipment)/related qualification.
At least 5 -10 years of related experience.
Good knowledge of computers.
Knowledge of inventory control and record keeping.
Knowledge of the manufacturing of precision parts
CNC programming and machining
CAD drafting (preferably CADKEY)
3D modelling (preferably SOLIDWORKS)
Tool and fixture design
Metal removing manufacturing process design and/or planning
Manufacturing costing
Rotating equipment
ERP (preferably)
Be available after hours, to support any requests from Workshop staff
