Job Description

Job Title: Trainee Business Mentor
Employment Status: 6 months
Industry: Education
Career Level: Junior

Main purpose

The key objective of the role is to develop, strengthen and build the capacity of the business and the entrepreneur and provide appropriate guidance and mentorship. In this role, you should be able to empower entrepreneurs to achieve business and personal growth through an increase in profitability, confidence levels and practical skills. You will mentor, coach and guide entrepreneurs with strategic business direction to ensure that they sustain their business during and post Covid19 crisis.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide bespoke technical guidance, business advisory, support and mentoring services by following clear instructions and mentorship guidelines
Always delivering value as a first point of contact for the company
Conduct business diagnostics for the businesses and develop areas of focus to enable access to business opportunities
Plan and organise individual mentoring and coaching sessions for business as per the agreed workplan
Monitor and evaluate the progress of the businesses to gather feedback on the trainings delivered and identify areas of continuous improvement
Provide recommendations, based on the trainings carried out on some of the areas that require further training for maximum results
Provide in a timely manner challenges being faced by the entrepreneurs needing immediate intervention
Escalate any queries, complaints and operational or financial risks to the relevant manager to ensure they are handled and resolved in a timely manner
Understand and adhere to the company standards, policies and procedures

Key requirements include, but are not limited to:
Proficiency in written and spoken English and at least one additional local language would be an added advantage
Minimum 12 months experience in customer service/teaching/mentorship
Basic Computer knowledge
Have an internet connection at home
Have a laptop, interviews will be conducted via Zoom

Target start date: 22 June for a week-long orientation and training on agreed approach, methodology, tools and frameworks.

Provision of training, mentoring, and coaching from July to December 2020. This is a 6-month contract.
