B Degree: Mining Engineering OR BTech in Mining Engineering OR National Higher Diploma in Mining Engineering
Must have a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competence
Senior Management Development Programme certificate
A minimum of 5 years’ Mine Overseer experience
Finance Management for Non-Financial Managers Certificate
MS Office suite at Advanced level
Valid Driver’s license
Willing to relocate
Experience in Managing and co-ordinating the optimal operation of core mining and underground support structure activities of an underground mine to ensure prime extraction of ore materials according to operational requirements and targets, sound Mining practice and all relevant legislation.
Control the preparation of production records and reports
Determine schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel
Determine, implement and monitor production strategies, policies and plans
Ensure that areas of risk are identified and processes are established to manage these risks
Co-ordinate and administrate the implementation of process changes to ensure the attainment of production targets and to ensure optimum process efficiencies
Direct the execution of the production maintenance strategy through the provision of appropriate structures, systems and resources
Direct, co-ordinate and integrate all technical aspects of projects in accordance with project requirements
Ensure that the relevant risks and hazards are identified and managed through Risk Assessments, procedures, COPs etc.
Evaluate processes, systems, products or new developments to identify opportunities and deficiencies to ensure continuous improvement
Perform risk evaluations within design of systems, equipment and products
Responsible to ensure the achievement of production objectives by incorporating all relevant factors like organisational requirements and the utilisation of resources
Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
